Less than a week after Motorola introduced its version of an Android smartphone, LG today said it will follow suit. The company says the LG-GW620, the OEM's first Android handset, will be available in Europe in the fourth quarter.
According to a press release, the GW620 will feature a 3-inch touchscreen and slide-out qwerty keyboard. Early pictures of the device appear to show a 3.5mm standard headphone jack. Otherwise, specs for the phone were limited.
As the latest arrival to the Android space, LG faces some stiff competition. Last week, Motorola unveiled the Motorola Cliq, an Android-based smartphone for T-Mobile USA in the United States.
Europeans will get the Android-based Motorola Dext, launching in the near future with Orange in the United Kingdom and France, Telefonica in Spain and America Movil in Latin America.
