• Wireless industry veteran Jim Ryan has joined Motricity as chief strategy and marketing officer. Ryan is well-known for his work in the industry. He’s a former vice president of consumer data services for AT&T Mobility, and before that, he was at Sprint PCS and O2 in Europe. For the past two years, he’s been focusing on assisting early stage businesses.
• EA Mobile announced six new titles available on the Apple App Store, including: Star Trek, American Idol, Trivial Pursuit, Lemonade Tycoon, Pandemonium! and Anytime Pool.
• American Tower has completed the acquisition of XCEL Telecom Private, which at closing owned about 1,660 towers in India. XCEL also had about 70 towers in various stages of development that American Tower plans to complete over the next several months.
• DirectFix.com says it sold over 10,000 iPhone and iPhone 3G screens and touch panels, generating more than 3 million unique visitors to its replacement screen video tutorials on YouTube.com.
