• Sony Ericsson appointed Anderson Teixeira as president of its North American operations effective June 1; he will be based in Raleigh, N.C. A native of Brazil, Teixeira has been part of Sony Ericsson since the formation of the joint venture in 2001.
• Reality Mobile announced that CEO Dave Rensin will assume the role of vice chairman and chief scientist. David Kramer was promoted from COO to president and CEO, Kevin Winters was promoted from vice president of engineering to CTO and Philippe Kuperman was promoted from vice president of sales to senior vice president, sales and marketing. Patrick McVeigh was appointed chairman.
• Former Cincinnati Bell president John Mueller has joined the board of directors at Spectrum Inc., a national telecommunications expense management company. Mueller has worked in the telecom industry for more than 30 years, and currently sits on the board of Centennial Communications and Apex CoVantage.
• The FCC is seeking nominations for membership on the Communications Security, Reliability and Interoperability Council. The council is a federal advisory committee that provides guidance on the nation’s communications infrastructure and public safety communications. Nominations and expressions of interest for membership must be submitted to the FCC by May 11.
