 • The Wall Street Journal reports that AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson will forgo a bonus for 2008. Some 120,000 managerial employees will not receive salary increases in 2009.

TeleCommunication Systems (TCS) announced a multi-year contract agreement with Cricket Communications under which TCS will provide its suite of E911 services to Cricket throughout the United States. The two companies have maintained a strategic partnership since 2001.

Sierra Wireless announced the resignation of Trent Punnett, senior vice president of marketing and corporate development. The company has no immediate plans to fill the position.

Palm’s Centro smartphone is now available in Canada on Bell Mobility’s 1X EV-DO network. Palm has sold more than 2 million Centro units worldwide.

Aeris Communications announced AerCommand, a patent-pending technology designed to combine smart-metering and demand-response communications in a single platform. AerCommand uses the Aeris nationwide CDMA network and specially designed, pre-provisioned Kyocera modules to deliver broadcast paging messages to millions of smart-metering devices for a flat fee.

Connectiv Solutions announced a three-year contract extension with NTELOS. Connectiv’s routeWATCH solution will continue to provide company-wide analysis of NTELOS’ wireless network to uncover routing savings opportunities and provide network planning intelligence.

Azimuth Systems announced the availability of the ACE MX MIMO Channel Emulator, purpose-built, enhanced testing solution to meet the needs of multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) and orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM)-based systems.
