• There’s no need for a separate personal navigation device (PND). Verizon Wireless and Trimble announced the availability of Trimble Outdoors on select GPS-capable cell phones.  The application allows customers to turn their phones into full-featured GPS receivers to be used during outdoor recreational activities. It’s available on more than two dozen GPS-capable phones and costs $5.99 a month or $1.99 for one-day use.

Yahoo!  reported fourth-quarter revenues of $1.8 million, a 1% decrease compared to the same quarter a year ago.

Tellabs reported fourth-quarter 2008 revenue of $408 million, down 13% from $469 million in the fourth quarter of 2007. For the year 2008, Tellabs revenue totaled $1.7 billion, down 10% from $1.9 billion in 2007.

Tranzeo Wireless Technologies and PT. Teknologi Riset Global (TRG), a subsidiary of infrastructure provider the Indonesian Tower Group, are moving forward with the first phase of a joint development agreement to produce WiMAX subscriber units for the Indonesian market. The Indonesian government announced on Jan. 22 decrees and regulations releasing spectrum at 2.3 GHz and 3.3 GHz for wireless broadband access across all regions of Indonesia. 

iWebTrack Holdings says it recently launched improved mobile applications of its Web analytics tool iWebTrack for both Blackberry  and Windows Mobile platforms. 

• Mobile Web advertising platform provider Mojiva named two additions to its executive team: Tim Cronin, vice president of Business Development, and Julie Preis, vice president of Product Marketing.
