Study: Mobile Messaging Stays Strong

Despite a global economic crisis, ABI Research predicts that mobile messaging will continue to grow. In fact, in a recent report, the research firm predicts that revenues from mobile messaging will grow from $151 billion in 2008 to more than $212 billion globally by 2013.

According to Dan Shey, principal analyst, mobile messaging ARPUs represent more than 85% of all handset data services revenues regardless of region. Because so many major players are involved in messaging, they will have incetntives for work together to “serve customers well and propel all parties through these rough economic waters.”
