Nokia has kicked into high gear for its push into emerging countries with the launch of seven new devices.

The new phones will include the Nokia 1202, a follow-up to its 1200, which will sell for about $32, and two other models with e-mail support priced at $50.

The Nokia 1202 features a flashlight, extended battery life, loud ringtones and a phone book for up to five users. These features also are included in the 1661, Nokia's lowest-cost color phone, which includes an FM radio and a large color screen. The 1661 sells for $38.

The 5130 XpressMusic device costs $115 but lower-end devices are also available for Web services. These include the 2320, 2323 and 2330, and cost $51-$64. These devices also feature a low-cost integrated camera, FM radio and Web browser. Finally, the handset maker is offering the 7100 Supernova multimedia device which costs $96.

In a separate statement, the Finnish handset maker said it would cut 450 jobs in its markets unit and about 130 jobs from its research center.
