Software maker Openwave Systems today announced its new service, Mobile Analytics, to help companies monitor Web traffic from mobile devices.
Mobile analysts in general is a growing market. Companies can also use the software to establish categories and subcategories of users based on demographics, including users of social networking services, officials explained.
“Business intelligence is the key element to monetizing the mobile internet.” said Openwave’s Sean MacNeill, vice president and general manager of services management and global services, in a statement today. “By better understanding mobile data usage patterns, carriers can identify and deliver relevant revenue generating services.”
The service is currently available through Openwave’s global services unit.
