Qwest Switchover to VZW Services Official

Posted In: Carriers and Vendors | Environment

Beginning today, Qwest Communications will begin offering Verizon Wireless services to its new residential and business customers in a deal that it announced in  May. Previously, the company was offering Sprint services.

Unlike the deal with Sprint where Qwest sold wireless services under the Qwest brand, the agreement with Verizon calls for selling the services branded as Verizon Wireless. That should clear up any confusion consumers might have about whose network they’re  using. Qwest at one time had its own wireless network but decided in the 2003 to pursue what amounted to a reseller model.

Verizon Wireless services may be purchased at Qwest retail outlets and kiosks, online at www.qwest.com and by calling 800-244-1111. Current Qwest Wireless customers will be notified directly about all Verizon Wireless and handset options, and are not required to do anything at this time.
