In more BlackBerry news, E-Trade Financial is giving account holders an application that will let them get real-time stock quotes and trade straight from their BlackBerrys. The firm says it’s the first major U.S. brokerage house to provide a mobile application with cash transfers and real-time quotes.

The free application, called E-Trade Mobile Pro, promises trading will be much easier than using its Website on a mobile phone. Features of the application include the ability to trade stocks and options, set up portfolio watch lists and get news.

The software will be available as a free download on E-Trade's Website starting today. Though E-Trade initially will launch the application only for BlackBerry handsets, versions compatible with other handsets could follow.
