LAS VEGAS—Using CTIA’s Wireless 2008 as the venue, Interop Technologies released news of four recent business contracts.
- Alaska DigiTel purchased Interop’s Over-the-Air (OTA) Programming Solution 3.3. The deployment, scheduled for the second quarter, will enable Alaska DigiTel to reduce retail activation time by up to 40% and automatically update customers’ phones. Using Interop’s hosted OTA solution, Alaska DigiTel can provision and program a substantial number of customers’ phones faster. The operator also will be able to adjust Preferred Roaming Lists (PRLs) to manage cost structures and react quickly to changing roaming relationships.
- Centennial Wireless is deploying Interop’s hosted CSC gateway. The gateway solution provides immediate connectivity to numerous content aggregators, enabling Centennial Wireless to expand its content portfolio quickly. The gateway also accommodates strong growth in the use of short codes and enables the operator’s customers to choose from a huge selection of the latest wallpapers, ringtones, and additional content. The gateway offers unified billing for SMS and MMS, on-deck and off-deck content, local premium and voting campaigns and other value-added services. Centennial Wireless operates a GSM network in Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Ohio and Texas.
- Immix Wireless, a Pennsylvania wireless network operated by PC Management of Bonita Springs, Fla., is also using Interop’s hosted Common Short Code (CSC) gateway. The CSC gateway solution enables Immix to generate additional revenue and helps provide customers with wallpapers, ringtones, and other content available through short codes.
- West Central Wireless, a network operator with headquarters in San Angelo, Texas, purchased Interop’s turnkey SMS Center 4.0. The scalable SMSC 4.0 lets the operator increase the number of messaging customers and volume of text messages on its system, as well as offer additional SMS support to operators with whom the company shares its switches. Locally owned and operated, West Central Wireless serves 16 counties in Texas and offers switching services to several additional wireless operators within the United States.
