The world’s largest handset maker Nokia has unveiled its 6650 model, exclusively for Deutsche Telekom's T-Mobile clients. The 6650 is an S60, HSDPA-compatible handset, with a 2.2-inch TFT display, 30 MB of internal storage, integrated GPS, 2-megapixel camera, FM radio and dedicated music controls. The 6650 will be available from T-Mobile during the third quarter.

T-Mobile also refuted rumors that it would no longer carry Ovi-compatible Nokia handsets. German magazine WirtschaftsWoche reported that T-Mobile will not carry Ovi handsets because they compete with the carrier’s own content platform. The report, however, did not cite any sources for the news, and Philipp Humm, head of T-Mobile Germany, told Reuters that it was not the carrier’s policy to exclude Nokia handsets from its lineup and that he did not know why the magazine made such a report.

Nokia also announced plans to launch the Nokia 6124 model exclusively for Vodafone customers; the 6124 classic is a Symbian-based handset promising 3G broadband data speeds, for a better mobile Internet experience. The Nokia 6124 classic will start shipping in Vodafone markets during the second quarter of 2008.
