• Egypt’s Mobinil has selected Aircom International to help implement 3G technology into its existing 2G network.  Mobinil has purchased the UMTS+HSPA module of the Asset network planning tool from Aircom’s Enterprise tool suite. Deployment of Asset into the Mobinil network began in April, and the tool is currently being used by Mobinil planning and optimization engineers across Egypt. 

Monotype Imaging has introduced Edge Technology, an advanced font-rendering solution. Available as an optional plug-in for the company’s iType scalable font engine version 4.1, Edge Technology debuts with typefaces that support Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages.

Antenova Ltd. has received $6.5 million in financing to expand the company’s range of Radionova RF antenna modules. The modules can be found in smartphones, feature phones, ultra mobile PCs, PDAs, portable navigation devices, portable media players, trackers and personal safety devices.

Plusmo has announced that Pro Football Live and College Football Live applications will be available to T- Mobile USA’s G1 customers through Android Market.

Telekom Srpske, a top operator in Bosnia and Herzegovina, said it will buy GSM network equipment from Nokia Siemens Networks.  The company has 1.1 million subscribers and aims to cover 99% of the population.

Konami Digital Entertainment announced its partnership with Sprint to bring its mobile games library to the carrier’s subscribers. Sprint customers can now access Contra 4 and soon will be able to download other Konami titles, including mobile games like Frogger, Castlevania and Metal Gear Classic.
