Verizon Wireless is pushing Slacker Radio to the BlackBerry Storm smartphone, integrating the service with Verizon’s own V CAST music service. If customers hear a song on Slacker that they like, they can then purchase the song through V CAST.
In a press release, Verizon said that over the next several days, customers using the BlackBerry Storm smartphone will see the Slacker Radio application icon appear on their handsets' home screens as it is pushed over-the-air. The Slacker Radio icon gives customers one-click access to a free version of Slacker Radio.
A spokeswoman for Verizon said that Slacker will be pushed out to all Storms, enterprise customers included. “Customers can download it if they want, or if they don't, they can move it to a folder to hide it.”
Slacker Radio is included with e-mail and Web for BlackBerry plans, which begin at $29.99 when added to any nationwide voice plan.
