AirTran has introduced a new Mobile Web program that allows customers to view their flight status, check in for flights and select seats using their cell phones.
Customers still need a printed boarding pass, but can use their mobile devices to check in at ByePass kiosks or AirTran ticket counters. AirTran plans to add more capabilities to its Mobile Web service in the future.
"AirTran Airways is constantly developing innovative ways to make travel easier and more convenient," said Tad Hutcheson, vice president of marketing and sales for AirTran Airways, said in a statement. "Mobile Web gives AirTran Airways customers more information and allows them to save time and increase their travel options.
AirTran customers can use Mobile Web immediately.
