After NBC Universal failed to reach an agreement with Apple last week, the network announced that it will sell episodes of its new TV shows on Amazon.com's Unbox digital download service.
So while new episodes of "The Office" and "Heroes" will no longer be available on iTunes, new episodes will now be available for $1.99 on Unbox the day after they air. Free pilot episodes of new fall shows, such as "Bionic Woman" will also be available on Amazon.com starting Sept. 10.
NBC and Apple's contract expires at the end of this year, and Apple claims that NBC wanted to raise the price of its content, though the network has denied that claim. NBC said it was looking into packaging different programming for different prices and that Amazon is willing to consider its proposals.
