Want to have all of the traditional aspects of online shopping in the palm of your hand? It is now possible with the next-generation mobile shopping platform introduced by Boulder, Colo.,-based mShopper.

The service allows users to browse, compare prices and make purchases all from their handsets. According to the company, it tried to make the service simple yet appropriate for the mobile user. For instance, it developed a patent-pending dual-field entry that allows users to search for a desired item by entering only two or three characters. If a user wants to check out a flat-screen TV, for example, he or she can enter the two letters of a brand to get results. They can then further refine their searches with other letters such as "hdt" for high definition TV.

For other types of purchases, shoppers can select sizes and colors as well as provide ship-to addresses and other shipping information.

mShopper currently offers more than 7 million products from more than 100 vendors in every major shopping category. The mShopper application also includes a Click2Call link to customer support on every page so that mShoppers can speak to a live person any time they have a question.

Formally launching this month, mShopper covers a broad array of big-box retailers as well as specialty online vendors including Beach Camera, Bluefly, Cosmeticmall, eBags, eLuxury, Shoemall, Shoes.com and TigerDirect.
