Qwest Communications is offering pink wireless phones made by Sanyo to help raise funds for the breast cancer organization Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The companies will donate 10% of retail sales of the pink phones through October. The minimum donation will be $50,000 and the maximum will be $100,000.
"A key to our success at Komen for the Cure is that we collaborate with a variety of organizations to provide creative ways for people to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer," Cindy Schneible, vice president of resource development at Susan G. Komen for the Cure, said in a statement. "We are proud to have the opportunity to partner with Qwest and Sanyo to allow wireless phone users to make a bold statement about breast cancer awareness and a valuable contribution to breast cancer research and community outreach programs."
Qwest and Sanyo will release two additional pink phones that will be part of the partnership later this summer.
