AT&T Lays Down Trax
By Wireless Week Staff
WirelessWeek - August 13, 2007

AT&T and LG Electronics are teaming up to offer a new music-centric handset. The device is called Trax by LG, and it features AT&T Mobile Music, which gives users access to subscription music services such as Napster and eMusic. It is also MobiTV- and XM Radio Mobile-capable so users can access streaming live TV and digital radio on the new device. Trax also can be used to access AT&T's Cellular Video service, which features content from CNN, The Weather Channel, Comedy Central and HBO.

"The trax by LG is more than a music phone," Carlton Hill, vice president of product management for AT&T's wireless unit, said in a statement. "With top-notch video and data capabilities, in addition to a sleek design, this device will hit the right note with many of our customers."

The phone will support AT&T's Video Share service and also features a 1.3-megapixel camera with in-camera photo editing capabilities.

Trax by LG will be available in AT&T retail stores beginning tomorrow for $129.99 after a mail-in-rebate with a 2-year service agreement.
