Although the Columbine massacre was nearly seven years ago, the fragile sense of safety in schools was once again rocked to the core. In this recent tragedy, the gunman took six hostages, but released four of them during the 4-hour siege.

Network Plans Interest Lawmakers

Last April, Cyren Call proposed that 30 MHz of spectrum in the upper 700 MHz band be set aside for use by public safety and first responders. Wireless carriers would build the network in a public/private partnership.

Cyren Call wants this spectrum to be turned over to the first responder community, or at least to a trustee.
