Vodafone Sweden is gearing up for a commercial launch of push-to-talk (PTT) services using Nokia's push-to-talk over cellular (PoC) solution. Terms were not disclosed.

Gemplus International S.A. is celebrating a big win today. The subscriber identity module (SIM) card supplier renewed its multi-year supply agreement with Cingular Wireless for SIM cards and was picked as a primary supplier of universal SIM (USIM) cards as well.

The good news just keeps coming for some companies dabbling in the wireless space. Yesterday, navigation systems provider Navteq reported record third-quarter revenue. Its shares were trading up about 17 percent at mid-day Eastern time today.
