The board of the GSMA said its new chairman is VimpelCom CEO Alexander Izosimov, who will serve a 2-year term. Izosimov previously worked at Mars and McKinsey & Co.
AT&T Executive Vice President Bill Hague is the new vice chairman.
New board members include Telenor CEO Jon Fredrick Baksaas, TM International CEO Dato’ Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim and America Moviles’ head of international roaming Eduardo Barnetche Girard.
The GSMA’s board has 26 seats. It now includes 14 CEOs and represents 69% of global mobile users, officials said.
