Pinger Phone Targets Contacts, Social Networks
By Wireless Week Staff
WirelessWeek - December 22, 2008

Pinger, a San Jose company founded by former Handspring executives, announced Pinger Phone, a mobile application that provides an interface for managing and communicating with phone contacts as well as with friends on Facebook, MySpace and Twitter.

People can see IM presence in their contacts or their social network feeds and then decide whether to call, text, instant message, e-mail or send a Facebook, MySpace or Twitter message, all from one menu, the company said.

Pinger Phone is a free application and available now on iPhone and iPod Touch devices. Pinger plans to support BlackBerry, Microsoft Windows Mobile, Palm and Symbian in the future.
