• Alcatel-Lucent announced it has a $230 million contract to provide end-to-end communication solutions for China Telecom and increase the capacity and coverage of its mobile voice and data network throughout the country. The contract was secured through Alcatel Shanghai Bell, Alcatel-Lucent’s Chinese flagship company.

• The Femto Forum announced results from its recent femtocell radio study. The survey found that technologies that can mitigate interference are adaptive pilot power controls, dynamic receiver gain management, extended tests for dynamic range and uplink power capping.
