Vantrix Launches Media Controller

Los Angeles—Montreal-based Vantrix used the TelcoTV conference to launch it Media Controller and to announce deployments in Kuwait, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as the United States.

The Media Controller is a policy enforcement point for multimedia content and services, which allows operators to enforce rules and policies on multimedia traffic. It also provides a mechanisms to prevent malware and other types of malicious or unsolicited multimedia content from reaching subscribers.

“In order for network operators to introduce innovative services and business models such as mobile advertising, they need a solution that is able to manage multimedia traffic efficiently,” said Patrick Lopez, chief marketing officer for Vantrix, in a statement. “Media Controller is an effective way for operators to offer subscribers a level of security and control, while still introducing revenue-driving applications and solutions, including mobile advertising.”

Media Controller, which is a component of Mediadvance, the company’s core software platform, includes anti-spam, content filtering, anti-virus and advertising-insertion capabilities.
