Cricket Communications said its coverage footprint is expanding to new markets, including Atlanta, Cleveland, Dallas, Detroit, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando, Sacramento and San Francisco.

The extra coverage is available now and is free in $50 and $60 service plans from Cricket, which is a division of Leap Wireless International.

“This is a great added value for our customers since they now have unlimited calling in major metropolitan areas where they might visit for work or pleasure,” Leap CEO Doug Hutcheson said.

The coverage does not apply to Cricket’s broadband or PAYGo services.
